Privacy Policy

1. Overview

SteelReady (“SteelReady,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides structural engineering services for metal building foundations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to steelready.com and related services.

2. Information We Collect

  • Contact information you provide: name, email, phone number, company.
  • Project information you submit: building specifications, location, uploaded drawings or files.
  • Consent records: whether you opted in to transactional SMS, with a timestamp, IP address, and user agent for audit purposes.
  • Usage data: standard server logs and privacy-respecting analytics about how our site is used.

3. SMS Messaging & Phone Numbers

If you opt in to SMS messaging from SteelReady, we use your phone number solely to send transactional messages — appointment reminders, order confirmations, and account notifications tied to work you have requested. SteelReady does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Message frequency may vary. Message & data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help, or STOP at any time to opt out.

SteelReady does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing purposes. The only parties we share phone numbers with are the SMS delivery providers strictly necessary to transmit messages you have consented to receive (for example, our telephony carrier). This no-sharing commitment is a fixed policy and is not affected by any other section of this document.

4. Cookies, Tracking Technologies & Analytics

SteelReady uses a limited set of cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the site and understand aggregate usage. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not share cookie data with ad networks.

  • Strictly necessary cookies — set by our hosting provider (Vercel) to route requests, maintain session integrity, and protect the site against abuse. These cannot be disabled without breaking site functionality.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We use GA4 to measure aggregate traffic patterns (pages viewed, session duration, device type, approximate geography). GA4 sets first-party cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) and may transmit information to Google. IP anonymization is in effect. We do not use GA4 Advertising features or share GA4 data with advertising products.
  • Event tracking — when you click certain calls-to-action (such as “Schedule a Call” or “Get a Quote”), we log an anonymous event in GA4 so we can count how often these buttons are used. No personal information is attached to these events.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider records standard request metadata (timestamp, URL, IP address, user agent, referrer) for security and diagnostic purposes. These logs are retained on a rolling basis.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, opt out of GA4 tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or use your browser’s “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, which we honor where technically feasible.

No cross-site advertising. SteelReady does not use retargeting pixels, conversion pixels for ad networks, session recording, or cross-site behavioral tracking on steelready.com.

5. How We Use Information

  • To provide the engineering services you request.
  • To communicate with you about your project, account, or inquiry.
  • To send transactional SMS or email of the type you opted in to.
  • To maintain records of consent for regulatory compliance.
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website and services.

6. Sharing of Information

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf (hosting, email, SMS delivery, analytics, engineering document review) under contractual confidentiality obligations, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.

7. Your Choices

  • Reply STOP to any SMS from SteelReady to opt out at any time.
  • Email [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.

8. Data Retention & Security

We retain consent records and project information for as long as necessary to provide services, to comply with legal obligations (including carrier and TCR audit requirements), and to resolve disputes. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will reflect the most recent version.
